COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 4,262 new Covid-19 cases today as the R-naught continues to trend down steadily.
The R-naught for the country is currently 0.92, down from 0.99 on Dec 7. A R-naught of less than 1.00 suggests that the spread of Covid-19 is decelerating.
Hospital admission of Covid-19 patients are also down 5 percent over the past seven days compared to the preceding week.
The only exception was Penang, where admissions are up 35 percent over the same period. Covid-19 bed utilisation is highest in Kelantan, Malacca and Terengganu.
