KUCHING: The son of the late Tan Sri Adenan Satem; Azizul Annuar won the Tanjung Datu state seat with a majority of 4,502 votes.

He polled 5,423 votes, while his challengers Jery'in Fauzi of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) garnered 921 votes, Goem Pijar from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) secured 226 votes and Cikgu Talip who is contesting as an independent polled 261 votes.

Tanjung Datu was previously helmed by his mother Puan Sri Jamilah Anu, who was elected in the by-election called in 2017 after Adenan's unexpected demise. - NST
