Covid-19 (June 26): 2,003 new cases, 1 death

 

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,003 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 28,151, up 24.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Negeri Sembilan (87)

Malacca (56)
Putrajaya (49)
Sarawak (41)
Kedah (38)
Pahang (20)

Another death attributed to Covid-19 was reported yesterday in Penang.

Over the past week, an average of 2 people were reported to have died of Covid-19 daily, while the average for the past 30 days was 2.9, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,746 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 70 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 129 deaths last month and 564 deaths in April.

There are 1,082 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 31 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (147) followed by Johor (95) and Sabah (58). - Mkini
