Whoopsie! PMO Twitter poll goes south, gets taken down

The Prime Minister's Office's social media team today removed a Twitter poll which contained mostly unfavourable views of a new government initiative.

The poll had asked Twitter users for their views on the newly established "Jihad Task Force to Address Inflation and Assist in Facing Cost of Living".

Netizens were asked if they agreed that the task force was capable of coordinating efforts to resolve issues regarding inflation efficiently and effectively.

This poll was published at 12.16pm today. As of 3.15pm, the poll had garnered 1,503 responses, of which 93.1 percent said they disagreed with that statement.

Only 2.7 percent of respondents agreed.

This new task force was established yesterday and announced by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and will be headed by Communications and Multimedia Minister Annuar Musa.

Other task force members are Finance Minister Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Agriculture and Food Industries Minister Ronald Kiandee, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) Mustapa Mohamed and chief secretary to the government Mohd Zuki Ali.

Meetings will be held twice a week on Monday and Thursdays. Ismail Sabri promised that press conferences would be held after the meetings to announce new measures to address problems arising from inflation.
