COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 1,591 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,513,631.
Active cases currently stood at 22,447, down 15.3 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Another five deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 3.7 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.9, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,686 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There were 129 deaths last month and 564 deaths in April.
Four of the five deaths occurred in Selangor while the other was in Johor.
There are 922 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 27 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (141) followed by Johor (73) and Sabah (72). - Mkini
