Covid-19 (June 9): 1,887 new cases, 3 deaths

 

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,887 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 22,074 - 485 higher compared to yesterday but down 13 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (776)

Kuala Lumpur (371)

Perak (143)

Negeri Sembilan (89)

Penang (84)

Putrajaya (80)

Sabah (67)

Sarawak (65)

Johor (56)

Malacca (46)

Kedah (43)

Pahang (25)

Kelantan (24)

Terengganu (10)

Perlis (7)

Labuan (1)

Another three deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".

These deaths occurred in Kedah (1), Malacca (1) and Pahang (1).

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 35,708 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 32 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 129 deaths last month and 564 deaths in April.

There are 954 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 25 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (151) followed by Sabah (84) and Johor (81). - Mkini
