PAS has made its position clear on proposals for a "big tent" strategy to Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin, according to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
Speaking to reporters today in Rusila, Terengganu, Hadi said PAS had deliberated with Muhyiddin on this.
"PAS rejects the 'big tent' proposal, and Muhyiddin accepts our views," he said.
Some within the Pakatan Harapan coalition are supportive of a "big tent" - an electoral pact for the next general election - to take on BN.
The idea emerged following the Malacca and Johor state elections, which saw BN win more than two-thirds in both elections as a result of a split opposition vote.
So far, only Bersatu appeared to have taken an interest in the idea and had instructed Muhyiddin to explore it further.
Hadi said PAS' position on any alliance was to unite Muslims first and later collaborate with non-Muslims "who are not extreme".
When asked whether he agreed that PN had a slim chance of winning the next general election without finding new partners, he replied that PAS has been "doing better" of late.
"PAS has evaluated our performance during the Sabah, Malacca and Johor election.
"A lot of those who voted for Pakatan Harapan don't support us yet... The (majority) did not vote for BN. There are many," he said. - Mkini
