Former premier Najib Abdul Razak and a number of family members have been given an early ride to test out the first phase of the Putrajaya MRT which is set to stretch 17.5km from Kwasa Damansara to Kampung Batu.
The sneak preview comes before the official opening of the line by Prime Minister Seri Ismail Sabri tomorrow morning.
Passenger operations will commence by 3pm on the same day.
The first phase of the Putrajaya line covers 12 stations - Kwasa Damansara, Kampung Selamat, Sungai Buloh, Damansara Damai, Sri Damansara Barat, Sri Damansara Sentral, Sri Damansara Timur, Metro Prima, Kepong Baru, Jinjang, Sri Delima, and Kampung Batu.
Thirteen new bus routes will also start operating with the new MRT service. Seven of the MRT stations also offer parking facilities for more than 2,800 cars.
Najib, who has been convicted and sentenced to 12 years in jail on corruption charges, shared a video on his social media in which he was seen with his daughter Nooryana Najwa and his grandson.
This is not the first time that Najib and family members have enjoyed a sneak preview of an MRT line.
In July 2017, the then-premier was accompanied by his wife Rosmah Mansor and their son Ashman, to test out the second phase of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line. - Mkini
