PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has come to Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob's defence amid attacks from the latter's own party Umno.
He said only those who are ignorant of politics would call the prime minister the weakest in Umno's history.
"That's not right, that is wrong... those who say that are clueless, they are political ignoramuses," he told reporters in a video uploaded on Facebook today.
The label 'weakest prime minister' came from Johor Umno deputy chief Nur Jazlan Mohamed, who criticised Ismail Sabri for his inaction over Zuraida Kamaruddin.
Zuraida quit Bersatu last month but has not been removed from her position in the cabinet despite pressure from Bersatu.
Hadi stressed that all prime ministers govern collectively with the rest of the cabinet.
He also said Ismail Sabri has done well as a prime minister in facing challenges such as Covid-19 and global inflation.
Besides Hadi, those who have come to Ismail Sabri's defence include Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin and Umno vice-president Khaled Nordin. - Mkini
