Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin is keen to complete her term in her ministerial position until the next general election.
However, she reiterated that Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has the prerogative to decide if she stays on.
"Of course, I want to serve the country and the rakyat. Yes, I am open to finishing my term," she was quoted as saying by The Star at the sideline of a Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) press conference yesterday.
The PBN president-designate was asked by the media if she wanted to stay in the cabinet.
Meanwhile, PBM president Larry Sng, who was also at yesterday's press conference, said the party wishes Zuraida to remain in the cabinet.
Zuraida, after announcing her departure from Bersatu on May 26, said she would "discuss her resignation" with Ismail Sabri soon.
Both Ismail Sabri and Zuraida have yet to meet up.
Bersatu had said it would be nominating someone from the party leadership as Zuraida's replacement for the plantation industries and commodities minister post. - Mkini
