PETALING JAYA: A former national footballer was arrested in Johor Bahru yesterday for being suspected of possessing methamphetamine.
Johor Bahru Utara police chief Rupiah Abd Wahid confirmed the arrest and said the department will issue a statement on the arrest soon, Kosmo reported.
The 36-year-old man used to be part of three Super League football teams as well as the Harimau Muda and Harimau Malaya teams, the report said.
The Melaka-born suspect was in teams that had won the FAM Cup, Malaysia Cup and Charity Shield as well as the Super League between 2009 and 2017. - FMT
