Former Umno leader Annuar Musa confirmed that the MACC had called him in to give an explanation on allegations that Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin spent an excessive amount of funds in Sabah during the state election in 2020.
In a press conference today, the former Ketereh MP revealed that he was “very happy” to cooperate with the anti-graft body when they summoned him last week.
"I already gave a statement to the MACC last week. I am actually very relieved because once again the slander is beyond my control.
"They said I went into the bedroom with piles of money, took millions and took the money everywhere, to ensure that there would be strong support for Muhyiddin because he gave money.
"When the MACC called me to testify I was very happy and I told the truth of what I had experienced. I say thank you and will continue to cooperate with the MACC, that is my responsibility," Annuar (above) told reporters at the Muafakat Nasional NGO office in Damansara.
Earlier, a short video went viral in which Annuar claimed that Muhyiddin allocated tens of millions of ringgit during the Sabah state polls.
In the Tiktok video, which Umno leader Mohd Puad Zarkashi also uploaded, Annuar purportedly revealed that there were tens of millions of ringgit in Muhyiddin's room when he met the Bersatu president.
Annuar claimed that the money was meant to help Umno in the Sabah state election.
