PETALING JAYA: Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Larry Sng has warned party members against aligning themselves with Perikatan Nasional, reiterating that PBM supported Anwar Ibrahim’s unity government.
Sng, who is MP for Julau and PBM’s sole member of the Dewan Rakyat, said: “There is no room for those party members who opt to align their support with PN.” He said PBM’s position was to support the government of the day.
A PBM member, former Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin, was recently announced as a Supreme Council member of the Muafakat Nasional NGO started by Annuar Musa, a former Umno divisional leader.
Two days ago, Sng said Zuraida was using Annuar’s MN as a “springboard” for her future political ambitions.
Also in the 30-member MN council are former Tanjong Karang MP Noh Omar of Umno, PAS central committee member Zuhdi Marsuki, Redzuan Yusof of Bersatu, and former Segamat MP Edmund Santhara Kumar, who is a PBM deputy president.
Annuar, a former Umno secretary-general, was sacked from Umno last week. He had in the past been labelled as “Bersatu-friendly” for trying to unite the party with PAS and Bersatu. - FMT
