Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Larry Sng said his party has no links with Annuar Musa's Muafakat Nasional organisation.
This is in response to his party's "president-designate" Zuraida Kamaruddin signing up with the NGO yesterday.
Sng (above, left) stressed that PBM was not connected to Muafakat Nasional "in any way" while suggesting that Zuraida joined the group to seek a new political platform.
"This is a good move for her since she has more time on her hands, especially now that she is not holding any senior position in PBM or any government role.
"I also foresee that she and her supporters will use Muafakat Nasional as a springboard for her future political ambitions.
"Nonetheless, I wish her well," he was quoted as saying by FMT.
Muafakat Nasional is an officially registered welfare organisation not to be confused with the stillborn Muafakat Nasional political pact between Umno and PAS conceived in 2019.
Annuar, the former Ketereh Umno division chief, started recruiting people into the group soon after he was removed from his party.
Zuraida was once among the most powerful women in the country when she was a cabinet minister in former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's administration.
The 64-year-old joined Bersatu in 2020 after falling out with the PKR leadership. She defected again earlier this year to PBM.
This was followed by an attempt to take over the party but it is uncertain if she still intends to. - Mkini
