AMPANG: A 32-year-old foreign man was detained for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl at her home in Jalan Kampung Fajar here.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the incident allegedly occurred in December.
"The suspect, who works as a newspaper seller, reportedly followed the victim home and they both entered a room.
"The suspect then held the victim by both wrists before hugging her. He then gave her RM50," he said in a statement on Sunday (March 26).
The suspect was detained at Jalan Air Jernih in Setapak at about 5.20pm on Saturday (March 25), he said.
"He has been remanded until Saturday (April 1).
"We are investigating under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences against Children Act 2017," he said. - Star
