PAS MP claims Blackpink concert a bigger threat than religious activities

GEORGE TOWN: Almost a week after the Blackpink concert was held, it is still causing controversy, with a PAS MP saying it is a bigger threat than religious activities.

Kepala Batas MP Dr Mastura Muhammad cited comparisons that religious ceramah were recently cancelled in Selangor with authorities not giving permits and strict regulations being imposed.

Dr Mastura, on Facebook, accused the government of double standards by allowing events such as the concert despite its deviant nature.

"The Blackpink concert was attended by more than 60,000 people, with a government minister posting on social media, urging them to come back soon," she said

The concert, said Dr Mastura, had violated several regulations set by agencies, including those that say there should not be revealing clothes or engage in actions that disrespect local sensitivities.

She questioned if Blackpink had violated these guidelines with their clothing and dance movements and what action would be taken against them. - Star
