Sabah PKR deputy chief Sazaly Donol (above) claimed that Pakatan Harapan is being sidelined for political appointments by the state government, including at the village level.
He said if this trend continues, it may cause trouble for the state government.
“I worry that it would stymie the smooth operation of the state unity government, and declarations of Sabah having a unity government would just be empty words," he said in a statement last night.
Sazaly said this after he submitted - on behalf of Kota Marudu Harapan - a memorandum to Upko president Ewon Benedick.
The memorandum called on Ewon to relay to Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor the Harapan division's demands for spots in local councils, village committees and such.
At present, Sazaly, who is also the Kota Marudu PKR chief, said political appointments in the district are mostly dominated by GRS and PBS.
Hajiji's GRS was initially Perikatan Nasional's arm in Sabah.
However, after the 15th general election, Hajiji realigned GRS to side with Anwar Ibrahim instead.
A subsequent power struggle which he survived, saw two Sabah Harapan leaders - Christina Liew and Phoong Jin Zhe - appointed to the state cabinet. - Mkini
