KUALA LUMPUR: Permodalan Nasional Bhd will relocate to Menara Merdeka 118 from its present headquarters, Menara PNB in Jalan Tun Razak here, which it has occupied since 1985.
The investment company’s president and group chief executive Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn said PNB will begin the move in the fourth quarter of 2023.
“We will be fully operational in the new office by the end of the year,” he said in the company’s annual report released today.
PNB owns Merdeka 118 via its wholly-owned subsidiary, PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd. The company will occupy 17 floors of the skyscraper, which at 678.9m is the second tallest building in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
Maybank will move its corporate head office to Merdeka 118 in the first quarter of 2025 from Menara Maybank. The bank is slated to occupy 60,300 sq m of space over 33 floors.
Merdeka 118 was constructed in three phases and consists of 400,000 sq m of residential, hotel and commercial space.
The building contains office spaces, hotels, retail outlets, observation decks in the building and in the spire, and a retail business centre. The building will be surrounded by 1.6ha of parks.
Going digital
Zulqarnain said PNB would expand its advisory offerings and enhance its digital channels, and the launch of “a robo adviser” that will be part of the myASNB mobile phone app.
The “robo adviser” would facilitate the process of selecting suitable investments based on an individual’s risk tolerance and investment goals. - FMT
