2 Form 4 students to be charged over junior’s death

 Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad says the two 16-year-old suspects will be taken to the Kuala Pilah magistrates’ court tomorrow morning.

Two Form 4 students allegedly involved in the death of a 14-year-old schoolmate at a sports school in Negeri Sembilan on Sept 25 are expected to be charged in the Kuala Pilah magistrates’ court tomorrow.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Alzafny Ahmad said the investigation into Idlan Fareeq Shahril’s death had been completed and the probe papers referred to the state prosecutor’s office.

“The instruction received is for the two suspects to be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, read with Section 34 of the same code,” he was quoted by Berita Harian as saying.

He said the two teenagers would be taken to the Kuala Pilah magistrates’ court at 9.30am tomorrow.

On Sept 25, Idlan was found unconscious in the dormitory of the sports school in Kuala Pilah. He was taken to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Idlan’s aunt alleged that a senior at the school hostel had assaulted her nephew. Two suspects, both 16, were subsequently arrested and remanded to assist in the murder probe.

Police previously said the victim was caught vaping by a warden on Sept 23 before the senior students allegedly took further action against him. - FMT
