Another “interesting” mamak is Zainuddin Maidin. A clone not of Mahathir but of Samy Velu – funny without meaning to be funny and full of his own self importance. He claims a somewhat dubious pedigree of being the former Chief Editor of Utusan Melayu …wait for it…THE MOST POPULAR MALAY LANGUAGE NEWSPAPER (ha!ha!ha!). He replaced that comical Kadir Sheikh Fadzir as Minister of information in Febraru 2006
Three things distinguish his tenure as Minister. His widely ridiculed interview with Al Jazeera in which he stuttered pathethically in broken English while insisting there was no Police Violence while chaotic scences of exactly that was being shown to us viewers.
The second part was his callous act of having an affair with a young girl while his wife lay paralyed in bed.
The third was losing to Datuk Johari Abdul from PKR for the Sungai Petani parliamentary seat.
That and nothing else...his "fight" with Malaysiakini is a manifestation that he is indeed mentally challenged!
