According to Deputy Home Minister Lee Chee Leong (right), the report was lodged at the Section 11, Shah Alam police station through the Selangor Immigration Department, with a defamation lawsuit to follow "very soon".
"We are in the midst of preparing the suit... it will be simultaneous (with the police investigations)," he said.
Speaking to reporters in Putrajaya, Lee said the government has given Zuraida time to produce evidence and she has failed to do so.
However, he said, the ministry has not investigated into the MP's claim that some migrants were made to take an oath of loyalty to BN to take part in the amnesty programme.
"We can't investigate without evidence (of the claim)?" he said.
Asked if he can be sure that none of the 300-plus ministry-appointed agents are not doing setting such conditions, he said: "As far as we know there is no such thing. (We) have never set that kind of condition."
Lee added that in her statements, Zuraida (middle, in photo) had made it very clear that her accusations are towards the government, so the government, as such, is defending itself.
"It is a false accusation. We repeatedly asked her for evidence, but nothing came forth, so we have to lodge this report," he said.
He noted that the action is "proof the government is transparent and non-comprising in defending the nation's sovereignty".
"I urge all to avoid being influenced by the dirty politics of the opposition," he said.
Zuraida, who is also PKR Wanita chief, had last week claimed that the amnesty programme was used to create phantom voters.
She said that PKR had "sneaked" to the amnesty registration centres and found a "script" which illegal migrants were "forced" to read out to swear their allegiance to BN.
Zuraida today claimed that she has collected evidence and will be ready to surrender them to the police within this week.
