Police report no longer required for lost birth certificate, passport, driving licence

October 11, 2011

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — A police report is no longer required in the event of a lost or damaged birth, marriage, academic and vehicle registration certificate, Malaysian passport, driving licence or land grant, Bernama Online reported tonight.

The announcement was made in General Circular No. 3 of 2011 as issued by the Prime Minister’s Department on September 29, the news portal added.

Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan was also quoted as saying the decision had been reached at a meeting of the Public Complaints Standing Committee on April 6 as police reports are a non-administrative practice not provided under any law.

He said the police received over 2.8 million reports in 2010, of which 1.1 million, or 40 per cent, were referred to other agencies.

Mohd Sidek added he hoped that doing away with the requirement would reduce the police workload as well as cost of operations.

He said, however, that all government agencies have been asked to identify situations in which the public would be required to submit a police report to them as stipulated under the law.

Sub: Missing package and misguided for money.

I would like to inform all the related persons that I have been fooled by the so called Euro Star Express Courier (both from UK and Malaysia) and Malaysian Shipment for a package that I should have received long ago. I was sent a package from my friend Ashton Zak from UK to Nepal. The package travelled through UK-Germany-Malaysia. From Malaysia, it was to be delivered to Nepal. But my package was dumped and I was asked for money in return of that package .I tracked the package through tracking number 8034178206 in eurostarxpresscourier.com and it show that the package is in Malaysia . Due to importance of that package, I paid 12400 RM & 800 USD to different person but still I have been asked for additional 500 USD. I have spent such a huge sum of money to receive a parcel. Now I begin to have a feeling of being fooled by all. I do not know who is responsible for this but I request Malaysian Police Department to address the problem I have faced and investigate in this matter to make justice and prevent others from being cheated in future. Please take necessary action in this matter according to the lay of Malaysia. I do not have any idea about the Malaysian law and justice
