Guan Eng "incompetent", doesn't dare push for Chinese DPM - MCA
Contradictory remarks by DAP chairman Karpal Singh compared to his party’s Secretary General Lim Guan Eng on the choice of candidate for Deputy Prime Minister deserve criticism.
It should be pointed out that not only does the Pakatan Rakyat coalition fail to reach a consensus on nominating a candidate as Deputy Prime Minister, this conflict in opinion permeates between the DAP chairman and the Secretary General.
Kit Siang and Hadi DPMs
Karpal Singh is reported in Guangming Daily as saying that should PR win federal office, DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang and PAS President Dato’ Seri Hadi Awang would be the Deputy Prime Ministers. But his comments were immediately disputed by Lim Guan Eng who as Secretary General, stated that the comment by his Chairman Karpal was just his personal view.
Since the comment of the DAP chairman is based on mere thoughts, then where does the party stand in their arguments? Are remarks only from Lim Guan Eng himself truly reflective of the Rocket’s position?
This again has proven that DAP chairman Karpal is not only losing respect within his own party, but also being pushed aside into further isolation within DAP. Guan Eng’s comments are simply an act of disrespect against the party Chairman
Guan Eng incompetent
Issues regarding DAP’s candidates for Deputy Prime Minister have always been a taboo for Guan Eng because in fact, he is incompetent. Hence, the Penang Chief Minister states that a candidate will be nominated once the Opposition tripartite reaches a consensus. This is merely to provide vague answers to this issue, whereas Karpal Singh has gone on to give individual views on the candidates.
PKR ketua umum Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim has repeatedly told the public that if Pakatan gains control over Putrajaya, Kit Siang will be the Chinese representative for the Deputy Prime Minister’s position. If that is the case, why doesn’t he clear Lim Guan Eng’s doubts? Is Lim Guan Eng feeling pressured over Nik Aziz’s repeated comments that the DAP Deputy Prime Minister candidate must be a Muslim?
In the past, DAP had pointed out that the Federal Constitution does not mention that non-Muslims may not serve as Prime Minister or Deputy Prime Minister. Thus, why didn’t Guan Eng directly and openly fight for a Chinese to be Deputy Prime Minister?
