PARTI Kebenaran Sabah has had its registration approved and is now actively looking to attract new members to expand itself across Sabah. Kebenaran’s main goal and purpose is to serve as a catalyst to United Suluk Community Organisation (Usco) in upholding their principle of improving the socio-economic status of Suluks in the state, according to sponsoring chairman of Sandakan Parti Kebenaran Sabah Datu Omar Ali Datu Bachtiyal.
In this context, said Omar, the Suluk community are welcomed to participate in both organisations because they focus on unity within the community that is based on equal rights.
Sandakan is the second district after Kota Kinabalu that Parti Kebenaran Sabah has officially launched its movement to attract new members which currently has a total of approximately 3,000 people, according to Omar.
“We will spread our wings to Sandakan to ensure Parti Kebenaran Sabah’s establishment and for Usco to continue to grow. However, I’d like to state that we are not an opposition party but we will help Barisan Nasional (BN) in the coming 13th general election,” said Omar to reporters when met last Saturday.
He added that Kebenaran and Usco’s leadership stand strong under the influence of BN, especially Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
Omar said the party would give full cooperation to BN candidates and have made a decision to ensure BN’s victory especially in Sekong that had always been BN’s stronghold.
Other goals for the establishment of the party included catering to the plight of the people, especially those with low income, said Omar.
He added that the party was also making an effort to uphold Islamic values in addition to ensuring its members contribute and involve themselves in any program organised by the government or private sectors.
“For those who want to join Kebenaran and Usco, we welcome everyone aged 18 and above. The president of Kebenaran and Usco is related to Bentan Alamin,” he said.
Omar added that more information could be found at www.pertubuhanUsco.blogspot.com and they can also be found on facebook by visiting Bentan Alamin’s profile page. (theborneopost)
