Only experienced govt can build better future for people: DPM

KUALA LUMPUR- Only an experienced government, which had been serving the people well, is capable of building a better future for the people, said Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

He said the government had a well-thought-out plan and direction besides initiatives under the national transformation programme to ensure a better future for the people.

"As long as the BN has the support of the people, efforts such as reducing crime and increasing the people's income will be continued. This is our assurance," he said when addressing residents of the Kampung Muhibbah People's Housing Project (PPR), Jalan Puchong-Kuala Lumpur here today.

Muhyiddin, who is also Federal Territories BN liaison committee chairman, said cooperation between the people and the government was pivotal in securing a better future for all.

Citing a wind of change in the people's confidence in the government's ability to make big changes, he said this was evident from the presence of thousands of Kampung Muhibbah PPR residents at the function against a few hundreds people who welcomed Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

Muhyiddin said the people should make a wise judgment in determining the ruling party and not be easily swayed by allegations raised by the opposition.

The deputy prime minister later announced an allocation of RM1.6 million for the construction of a mosque and a community hall for the Kampung Muhibbah PPR which has a population of about 10,000 people.
