Utusan links 'mystery woman' to Anwar
The face of a woman supposedly linked to allegations of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim’s 20 master accounts which contain RM3 billion has been revealed, reports Mingguan Malaysia.
The newspaper, which is the weekend edition of Utusan Malaysia, cited blogger Dr MiM as having originally published the photo, after Umno member Ummi Hafilda claimed to have submitted evidence to an MACC officer in a meeting several weeks ago.
According to the paper, Ummi had claimed that Anwar was very close to the woman, and that she paid income taxes worth RM50 million.
She was further reported as saying that the unnamed woman owned or was linked to 62 luxury condominiums and bungalows, mostly located in Penang.
New Straits Times reported that Friday that Ummi had met with MACC officers and handed over evidence, which included a list of properties and the photo of the woman who had allegedly benefited from him.
At the height of the reformasi movement, the then Bank Negara deputy governor Abdul Murad Khalid had alleged that Anwar, during his tenure as deputy prime minister, had some 20 master accounts containing RM3 billion in assets, shares and cash.
