Try as they may, Suaram is unsinkable

YOURSAY 'What is RM500,000 compared to the RM500 million in commissions for brokering the Scorpene submarine deal by Razak Baginda?'

CCM head to Malay groups: Why should I resign?

your sayRR: It is irresponsible and idiotic to demand the resignation of Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) chief executive officer Mohd Naim Daruwish.

As a responsible officer, he has to follow the official procedures and should not be seen as vindictive so as to satisfy JMM (Jaringan Melayu Malaysia) and Perkasa demands, which are supported by Umno.

Suaram, or Suara Inisiatif Sdn Bhd, should first be proven that they are involved in subversive activities to overthrow the government of the day by illegal means with foreign funds.

They should not be penalised for using the funds to educate the ordinary people to stamp out corruption in the country.

Yum: Suaram is not an NGO. It is functioning under the CCM-registered Suara Inisiatif. So, yes, technically, actions against Suara Inisiatif is the same as acting against Suaram. But that's not the issue.

The issue is whether it is wrong for Suara Inisiatif to accept funds from foreign organisations, and whether such transactions are properly accounted for, audited, and maybe taxed. If they are, what is the beef?

Unless these idiots are now saying it is wrong for a company to "do business" with foreign organisations. If so, then may I also report Petronas, Astro, Maybank, CIMB, etc, etc, etc. Some of these politikuses really have very little between their ears.

Tholu: This is the best scripted drama by Umno so far, working together with the NGOs under its control and command. The plot is to get the NGOs to furiously show displeasure with CCM and force the commission to act immediately on Suaram.

This would make the public less suspicious of Umno's political agenda in the move to investigate and prosecute Suaram. They believe that the public will think that CCM's investigation of Suaram was under the intense pressure of the NGOs and not Umno.

Umno hopes that the investigation will eventually thwart Suaram's efforts to get the individuals involved in the Scorpene scandal to face the legal and political consequences.

Aren't these NGOs concerned that if Suaram is crippled, the opportunity to expose the corrupt practices and abuse of power by government leaders would be lost?

Which interests weighs heavier - the interests of the public or the interests of the corrupt leaders? You NGOs, be reminded that your plot is trite and we can see through your political agenda.

Ex-Wfw: These bunch of jokers have no inkling how their demands can affect the interests of the nation.

They only think of their own interests; they forget that Malaysia is a country ruled by laws and conventions, not at the whim and fancy of half-baked minds expressing their demands for some publicity.

The government is desperate enough to allow this bunch of jokers to make us a laughing stock around the world.

Anonymous #19098644: What is RM500,000 compared to the RM500 million in commissions for brokering the Scorpene submarine deal by Abdul Razak Baginda as the front man for Najib as recorded in the parliamentary Hansard? It's enough to make all decent thinking people puke.

Conmen: It is wonderful to know there are people like Mohd Naim Daruwish, who is possessed of a sense of conviction of what is right or wrong and had the strength of character to fight the marauders.

Sir, don't give in to these ultra-rightist Malay racists/supremacists. They are trying to subvert and undermine Suaram in uncovering the dirt and filth that surrounds the corruption and abuse of power behind the Scorpene deal that ultimately led to Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu's murder.

I believe these Umno goons had a vested interest in trying to help divert public attention away from Najib's hanky-panky and Umno's involvement in the murky sleaze.

It's the same thing that happened to PKR's Rafizi Ramli in ex-minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's cows-and-luxury-condo scandal.

Here they are trying to nail Suaram, and if Suaram can be sunk, they hope the Paris court case will go nowhere.

Disgusted: They all out to get Suaram all because of the Scorpene court case in France. We the rakyat will support Suaram to get the case going till its fulfillment and those responsible for getting the kickbacks jailed for corruption.

Just open a bank account and you will find it filled to meet all your needs.

Amoker: We want ROS (Registrar of Societies) to check Perkasa and JMM account as well. Surely it is more than RM500,000 there.

Joe Paul: Naim, don't let those idiots pressure you into doing things that unprofessional and use the CCM for political purposes.

Those clowns have no idea how NGOs operate - one of the main reasons that many NGOs are forced to register as companies is that the Registrar of Societies (ROS) makes it almost impossible for human rights groups to be registered as societies. - Malaysiakini
