Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's claim to be a leader for all Malaysians will ring hollow should he fail to act on plight of the Orang Asli community in Pos Bihai, Kelantan.
Several Orang Asli children at SK Bihai were allegedly slapped by their teacher on Oct 23 for refusing to recite Islamic prayers after meals, despite the fact that they were not Muslims.
In a press release today, Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo said no action has been taken since the alleged incident took place and premier should look into the matter.
"This is an opportunity for the PM to show us that he is not just a PM for all Malaysians but one who is prepared to stand up for all Malaysians too.
"I call upon the PM to tell us what action has been taken in this case and why has there been a delay?
"The PM should also seek an explanation from the attorney-general as to why no action has been taken against the teacher concerned despite this being a relatively straight forward case which would have ordinarily warranted a criminal prosecution," he said.

'Keep your word'
Gobind was commenting on Najib's speech at the Christmas high-tea event organised by the Christian Federation of Malaysia yesterday.
Najib had said that he does not see himself as a prime minister for only a section of society, but for all Malaysians and that he had said so "repeatedly".
According to Gobind, the very fact that Najib had to the message had to be repeated, showed that his actions belies the hollowness of his words.
In November, the Education Ministry hacpromised to take action against the teacher who slapped the students, but there have been no developments since.
Earlier this month, the parents of the students that were slapped lodged a police report, claiming that teachers had tried to bribethem to keep the matter under wraps.
