“The concrete works for the grandstand has just started,” he said in reply to Datuk Mohammad Yusof Apdal (BN-Lahad Datu) during the question and answer session at the 14th State Assembly sitting, here, today.
Masiung who was representing Youth and Sports minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan said the project was progressing ahead of schedule by 2.11 per cent, with 22.85 per cent completed, compared to the 20.74 per cent target at this stage.

“There are 16 basic components of the project which include the arena that could accommodate 1,500 spectators, an administrative office, conference room, lecture and seminar hall,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, who is also Infrastructure Development minister, said the Tawau Phase 3 water supply dam would be built once the estimated RM271 million allocation was obtained.
