Stop whining, Malaysians. Take matters into your own hands.
In the run-up to the May 5 polls, the mainstream media insulted the intelligence of Malaysians and were punished severely for it with shrinking circulation and falling readership figures.
Now, some of them are trying to recalibrate coverage but once you have lost your credibility, nothing can help you.
Now, loss-making national carrier Malaysia Airlines has gone ahead andscreened that objectionable piece of fiction called Tanda Putera for its staff, ostensibly to celebrate its 41st anniversary.
"It will bring fond memories to our senior staff and act as a motivational boost for the junior ones," MAS group chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya told reporters at its academy building in Kelana Jaya yesterday.
Well, the simple solution is if you are unhappy with what Ahmad Jauhari did: boycott MAS.
There is no use raging about it when the best thing to do is speak with your wallet. After all, there are many other options when flying out of KLIA.
Similarly, pay-TV broadcaster Astro is now screening Tanda Putera for RM15 and the many millions of subscribers can send a message to T. Ananda Krishnan and friends by not buying the show.
This is the power that individual Malaysians have to affect the bottomline of these recalcitrant companies who support fiction that passes off as fact.
Of course, it is a free market but the consumers have the right to choose and tell off the companies what they feel.
It is easy to whine and complain but the solution is in everyone's hands. Use your wallet and express your dissatisfaction.
