KUALA LUMPUR -The Kampung Baru Development Corporation (PKB) is in the midst of implementing 22 initiatives towards redeveloping the area.
Federal Territory Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor (picture) said among the steps being carried out were meetings with landowners and the preparation of a detailed master plan for the project.
“Some of the other initiatives which have been started are preparing the infrastructure for the upgrading of Kampung Baru’s main road and redevelopment of the Raja Bot market involving 1.527 traders,” he said at Dewan Negara today.
He was responding to a question by Senator Datuk Firdaus Abdullah on the latest efforts and progress made since the establishment of PKB.
Tengku Adnan added that the meetings with the land owners and their heirs involving seven villages with 1,381 lots of land was aimed at clarifying the governments efforts to redevelop the area.
“As of end August 2013, four special engagement sessions have been carried out to make way for real estate prospects discussions between land owners and potential developers.
“Meetings at Kampung Periuk, Kampung Kampung Ujong Pasir and Kampung Paya have also shown positive response from the land owners and heirs.
“Our next sessions will be at the four other villages, Kampung Paya, Kampung Atas A, Kampung Atas B and Kampung Pindah,” he said. — Bernama
