Sacked from civil service, yet appointed Bank Simpanan CHAIRMAN - why?
A former high-ranking civil servant was dismissed from his job allegedly in the interest of public last year over New Public Service Remuneration Scheme (SBPA) fiasco had apparently landed himself in a high-paying job.
Abu Bakar Abdullah, the former public service department director-general was quietly appointed as Bank Simpanan Nasional’s chairman on March this year.
The matter came to light yesterday when Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar openly questioned the rationale behind the appointment.
The PAS vice president said if Abu’s dismissal was made in public interest, then why the same man was being made the chairman of BSN, a bank owned by the government.
Mahfuz urged the government to come clean on the matter and also the Abu’s expulsion from civil service last year over SBPA that widely opposed by civil servants.
