Diesel SHORTAGE at the pumps: Govt must do something - dealers
KUALA LUMPUR-- The Petroleum Dealers Association of Malaysia (PDAM) has urged the government to address the shortage of diesel at petrol kiosks nationwide.
Its president, Datuk Hisham Othman said the problem had persisted for over a year and needed to be addressed so that supply to consumers was not affected.
"Shortage of diesel usually occur at the end of the month lasting three to five days and normally, the petrol kiosk operators are blamed," he said in a statement, here Tuesday.
Hisham said the delivery of diesel to patrol kiosks by oil companies is beyond the control of the petrol kiosk operators.
Adequate supply of diesel at year end is critical due to the school holidays, Christmas, and the new year celebration. -- BERNAMA
