Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's family's lavish spending indicates that they are living beyond their means and warrants a probe by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), said PKR.
"There are all these evidence - that the prime minister's family is living beyond their means is very clear.
"Where did they get such large sums of money and income?," party vice president Tian Chua told journalists in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
Tian Chua, who is Batu MP, added that by the standards observed by many countries, living beyond one's means would immediately trigger an anti-corruption investigation.
He was responding to a Sarawak Report story that Najib's step-son Riza Shahriz Abdul Aziz had purchased a RM110 million condominium unit in New York.
Riza (far left), who is the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor's son from an earlier marriage, is a former banker in London and now a producer bankrolling Hollywood films.

The recently released USD100 million (RM329 million) Hollywood film 'Wolf of Wall Street' was financed by Red Granite Pictures, a company co-founded by Riza.
"We are quite puzzled how the MACC can be so immune to all these problems from Rosmah using government jet planes and now this.
"This is why MACC has not shown itself to be a credible institution investigating corruption," said Chua.
