On 1st Novermber 1478, Tribunal del Santo Oficio de la Inquisición or commonly known as the Spanish Inquisition (Inquisición española) was established. It's function was, among others, to persecute non Christians and those who were thought not to be Christians. By the end of it, 150000 people were tortured and killed. Houses and estates were plundered and robbed. Countless were left penniless. Untold misery was caused to so many. All in the name of God. In 2013, the Malaysian authority is thinking of establishing a Moral Police Force whose function is to prevent Syiah practices and deviationist teachings. Wonder how many would finally be arrested, interrogated in matters concerning their faith and subjected to mental, if not physical torture. God save us all.
