Gerakan adviser Chang Ko Youn said the party will not use the photograph of DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud with Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali as campaign material.
The party, he added, is more interested in highlighting the strength of its candidate Mah Siew Keong as an experienced leader.
"We won't use that kind of tactic," he told a press conference in Teluk Intan.
Chang (left) was responding to Ibrahim’s suggestion to use the photograph as campaign fodder since DAP and PKR used him as well when it came to ruining Chinese support for BN.
When quizzed on this today, Dyana said it was up to Gerakan on whether it wanted to use the photograph.
She added that the photograph does not indicate that she agreed with Perkasa's ideology, which termed as extremism.
Dyana will be facing Mah in the May 31 by-election for the Teluk Intan parliament seat.
