One of the pamphlets even sported an image of acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein asking a panda "Apa you mau lagi?" with the panda replying "Balik Cina".
Malaysia recently received a pair of giant pandas from China to commemorate 40 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang showed the posters and pamphlets to the media today and blamed Barisan Nasional for its smear campaign.
"I agree with BN candidate Datuk Mah Siew Keong that the Teluk Intan by-election is the dirtiest ever," Lim told a press conference.
Lim said Mah actually did not know what was going on in Teluk Intan as the latter had refused to elaborate on the dirty tactics by the ruling coalition.
"Mah should provide feedback on all the personal attacks carried out by BN against DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud instead of keeping mum.
"Mah said this was the dirtiest by-election ever. He is correct but the source of the smear campaign is not the DAP but Umno and BN."
Lim then asked who was going to be responsible for the smear campaign – DAP, Pakatan Rakyat or Umno and Barisan Nasional.
"Mah can say that he does not know, everything also he does not know.
"Sexist politics, money politics, Umno political assault, everything also Mah does not know."
