"Why Malays are really a very tolerant people" by Helen Ang

Helen Ang has done some good research as usual.

30 Islamic countries have Muslim populations in excess of 90%.  All these countries are either third world, basket cases, have serious problems, are facing strife and conflict or are dirt poor. Turkey is included in this list but I think Turkey is a misfit. Although Turkey is 90% Muslim, that is nominal only. The majority of Turkey's Muslims are secular. However the religious virus is now becoming more virulent. With Mullah Erdogan leading them, they are hurtling towards the Club of Doom.

There is this other interesting map which shows that out of over 1.5 Billion Muslims in the world, over 985 million Muslims are in Asia-Pacific (Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia etc).  The Middle East has 317 million Muslims whereas Africa has 248 million.

Despite their numerical superiority the non Arab Muslims still feel inferior to the Arab Muslims. Even an Arab goatherd will probably get a better hearing than an ostat in Malaysia or Indonesia. This has been the case for quite some time. So the Arabs rule the roost.

I think this is also why the Muslim countries in the Asia Pacific (Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan) are in serious trouble. They all want to be Arab and follow the Arab culture -  a culture that is alien to the natural and social environment of these countries. Hence they face problems with each other and with their non Muslim neighbours. They are importing an Arab culture and identity that is alien, strange and not right. Often it is also not Islamic. But the Arabs think it is Islamic.

Helen Ang points out that only three Islamic countries ie Lebanon, Malaysia and Burkina Faso have just over 60% Muslim population. The remainder are of other faiths. Helen Ang points out that Lebanon has seen plenty of religious strife.

Compared to Lebanon, Malaysia is a very peaceful county. Helen's view is that this is only possible because the Malays are a very tolerant people.

I agree with Helen here. And there is a little bit more. In Lebanon the 60% Muslims and the 40% Christians fought a vicious and long civil war. The war ended but it looks like it is starting again now. The funny thing is they are all Arabs in Lebanon. They speak the same Arabic, eat the same food, sing the same songs yet they kill each other. Arab Muslims versus Christian Muslims.

In Malaysia we are a peaceful country. The Muslims make up 60% and the non Malays make up 40% yet we are NOT like Lebanon.  Why? Plus we have different races, different religions, different foods, different cultures and different everything. We are peaceful. Why? Because the Malay culture is a peaceful and accomodative culture. That is why.

But that peaceful culture is now under attack. From within it is under attack by the religious ostats (many of whom are Saudi Arabian Wahhabi influenced). They are pushing the Muslims to be more belligerant. The gentle Malay culture is disappearing. They are confusing the Muslims  - like the boy wearing this T shirt.

From outside it is under attack by the church guys who think they should convert Muslims to christianity. Especialy after 9-11 when the world came to a shocking realisation that there were real losers running around the world (the Muslims). Many evangelical christians think that this was a signal for them to convert the Muslims to christianity. In Malaysia this is playing with fire.

I think we have to seriously curb the ostat fellows and the Wahhabis from confusing the Muslims. The gomen does not see the danger. The gomen is part of the problem.

We also have to tell the christians to keep it inside their pants. We dont need new imaginary flying unicorns.  

The gomen is totally clueless about the dangers of both and also how to handle both. I have approached the gomen on how to handle these things. I have even submited my ideas to them in writing. But no action. They really do not know the dangers we are facing.

(I am not blowing my horn lah. You folks have been reading my blog for years now. Havent I been warning about the terrorist and criminal threats associated with too many foreigners in the country particularly from South Asia, the Middle East and Africa? For years I have been boring you with my "warnings". Now every week the Police are arresting Somali terrorists, Sri Lankan terrorists, terrorist cells etc. I told you so. I wrote a book in 2006 saying that the Islamic countries are heading for doom. The Arab Collapse began five years later in 2011. It is not too difficult to see these things. Pakistan will collapse maybe in the next five years. 10 years max. Iran will collapse again. Saudi Arabia will collapse too.)

The solution is simple - ban religion. Take religion OUT of the public sphere. Do not spend taxpayers money or public funds on religion. You want religion you go and find it on your own time and expense.
