Selangor speaker Hannah Yeoh is unlikely to reject a motion by BN asking for the state to look into the possibility of enforcing hudud in the state.
However, she stressed that the final decision had yet to be made.
"I am still considering (the motion) but it is unlikely (for the house) to reject as it is only a motion urging the state government to study the feasibility of hudud in Selangor," she said in a text message to Malaysiakini today.
Yeoh added that it was stated in Standing Order 27 (5) that a speaker was given power to reject or allow any motion.
Umno's Sungai Air Tawar assemblyperson Kamarol Zaki Abdul Malik, who mooted the study, was reported as saying that his proposal on hudud was submitted last week.
