Speculation is indeed intensifying that Kelantan prince Tengku Razaleigh is in the final stages of garnering enough support to throw out under-performing Prime Minister Najib Razak via a no-confidence vote in Parliament.
With Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim now behind bars, no thanks to Najib, Ku Li is indeed the right man to carry out such a tough task.
Ku Li may well be past his prime but he is in a position to convince MPs from both sides of the divide. Both PKR and DAP would surely hear out Ku Li's proposition even though he may be an Umno man.
Perhaps this is why Najib is wooing Pas to the extent that he seems to have U-turned from his previous 'NO HUDUD' stance.
Within BN, it is clear even to the most sycophantic there, that Najib's rule is no longer tenable. There is simply too much scandal, and we are talking big-time international debacles that can destroy Malaysia's economy, surrounding Najib. Therefore, Ku Li would be a most welcome replacement.
The problem is - can Ku Li do it? Even Dr Mahathir Mohamad's faction is finding it tough to dislodge Najib.
You see, Najib may be a lousy leader but he is a consummate 'paymaster' and controls the Umno warlords via hefty monthly allowances and awards of lucrative projects. To get rid of the incumbent is never easy.
So for Ku Li or Dr M or the Opposition to succeed, they need to strike a pact - form a united front to push Najib out once and for all. All those who love Malaysia, including the corporate citizens and tycoons, must help in this effort or Najib will bankrupt the country and destroy its character beyond recognition.
Instead of peaceful and multiracial Malaysia, a warm and friendly country for all, we would become an extremist and bigoted country where narrow-minded leaders from Pas such as Hadi Awang and Najib's current favorite minister Ismail Sabri call the shots.
Agenda to enrich themselves
Ku Li, the next PM to be?
It is common knowledge that most of the top Umno leaders are not struggling for those who voted for them and the ordinary people; not anymore.
Once in position, their main agenda is to accumulate wealth and accumulate by whatever means possible. While some have not been showing off, many have shown their wealth and lifestyle which are beyond their official means.
Therefore how on earth could leaders of this nature care about how or where our money is spent and whether it has been siphoned out? Thus those Umno leaders would be bothered to ask Datuk Seri Najib Razak anything about the issues involving 1MDB when they had the opportunity to do so.
It is only Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk A. Kadir Jasin who are persistent in getting to the bottom of the 1MDB money-siphoning scheme.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin is simply hopeless; he has no guts.
Datuk Zainuddin Maidin has chickened out much earlier and Tun Daim Zainuddin seems to care no more. But why should he? What about Ku Li? He has his own agenda.
Stealing the country's money?
The complex money trail purportedly involving Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Jho Low, 1MDB and several others simply shows that something really fishy has been going on. Such complex trail is meant to hide the money changing hands and in the end becomes untraceable.
PM Najib
If 1MDB had been a straight forward business deal with the aim of making real profits at the end of the day, it would be easy to comprehend with proper and clear profit and loss shown in the balance sheet.
In the case of 1MDB, one need to read through several reports, maybe create a flow diagram, take notes and focus on the transactions to really understand on what has been going on. That too would be partially understood after several attempts. It is simply mind boggling for the ordinary people.
Although Najib has conceded a bit in allowing the Auditor General to audit the 1MDB accounts, there would be limitations because it would not be a forensic audit.
The Auditor General would only be able to look at the paperwork which would most probably be in order and legal because those involved in the mismanagement of the funds are not fools; they must be able to create a perfect paperwork and complying with the standard operating procedures.
Therefore those who are concerned about how our country and funds are being mismanaged by Najib must be united and form a front to make sure that Najib pays for all his mistakes, negligence and inactions.
Arrivals at the Grammy Award
Get the NGOs, some other prominent people or even the opposition leaders to unite as a front. A united front is necessary because Najib is still in power. And he has Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor by his side who is the real brain behind Najib!
We can see how confident Rosmah is despite the pressure on her husband. Rosmah is still going on with her with her own show, much to the disgust of Dr. Mahathir.
Face it, Dr Mahathir, you cannot do it alone anymore. Don't be proud, you too need to speak to Ku Li and the Opposition to save Malaysia. And you need to do it fast because time is running out.
Money is leaving Malaysia like nobody's business and evidence is being systematically destroyed. Once the trail grows cold, it will take decades for Malaysia to recover its economic momentum. Maybe this is why our ringgit has dropped so much, so quickly. There is simply not enough money for Bank Negara to use to defend our ringgit against speculators.
So for Malaysia's sake, the rakyat must pray that Dr M and Ku Li will put aside their pride and differences and extend the hand of friendship to the Opposition to stop Najib, save Malaysia from being turned into a failed state. - MAILBAG
