MIC Youth instructs 200 other members to lodge similar reports against alleged insults on a Facebook page.
KUALA LUMPUR: MIC Youth has lodged a police report against a statement posted on a Facebook page on Monday, which allegedly insulted the Hindu and Indian community.
Its New Media Information Bureau chief, P Punithan, was accompanied by 20 MIC Youth committee members while making the report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on Tuesday.
“I was informed that the case is being investigated by the Bukit Aman police, and I hope they can take immediate action on this,” he told Bernama.
Punithan said he had also instructed approximately 200 MIC Youth members at the branch and divisional levels to lodge similar police reports on the issue.
Dang Wangi Police chief ACP Zainol Samah confirmed receiving the report.
Meanwhile, R Sundaram, the committee secretary of the Sri Maha Mariamman Dhevasthanam Temple in Batu Caves, said the committee had also lodged a police report regarding the issue at the Batu Caves police station today.
