The PKR secretary-general decried that there have been a lot of misleading reports on this issue in the media, pointing to contradictory reports of Malay ruling party Umno's supposed support as well as rejection of the Islamic penal code that Kelantan state assembly had passed last Thursday.
To resolve this, the Pandan MP said the presidents of BN component parties such as MCA, Gerakan, MIC, PBB, PBS, Upko, SUPP, PRS, SPDP, PPP and LDP, who had voiced their opposition against hudud, to get Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's stand on the matter as soon as possible.
"If all the presidents of the BN component parties failed to get Najib and Umno's stand by Tuesday, it will be more dignified if they dissolve their respective parties as it is clear they are bullied by Umno in their 'sandiwara' (show) on hudud.
"It is clear these parties have no value compared with the cooperation between Umno and PAS on this matter," he said today.
