Shuhaimi urged all quarters to support Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali as he maintained ties with PAS assemblymen in the state.
"The Selangor menteri besar's decision to maintain executive council members from PAS is in line with the PKR presidential council's decision to continue efforts to set up a united and strong opposition front at the national level, never mind in Selangor as the government.
"It is clearly a party decision and not personal," Shuhaimi, who is also Azmin's press secretary, said in a statement.
Earlier today, Kajang Baru DAP chief Chiong Yoke Kong proposed that the party's top leadership pressure Azmin to sack all PAS assemblymen from the state government.
Speaking at the Selangor DAP convention today, Chiong had said if Azmin failed to expunge the government of all PAS leaders within a specified time frame, all DAP leaders should quit their state government posts.
But Shuhaimi said the state government should embody the spirit of the now-defunct Pakatan Rakyat and prove that it was a viable future federal government for all Malaysians.
"The Selangor government must stand by its decision to maintain holistic political cooperation with all quarters who wish to see a stable political alliance go up against Umno-Barisan Nasional in the 14th general election," the Sri Muda assemblyman said.
He also called on PKR to take action against its own party leaders who were calling for PAS leaders to be removed from the Selangor government.
