Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he will attend the March 27 closed-door gathering against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak if he is invited.
“Well, if I am invited I will go, of course,” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.
Mahathir was asked if he would join the March 27 gathering and take the lead.
The gathering is called by former law minister Zaid Ibrahim in a bid to oust Najib.
Zaid said the gathering will be an "invite-only" affair involving about 1,000 people.
Zaid said he will invite representatives of political parties from across the divide, student leaders and civil society members, to push for an independent investigation on 1MDB. - M'kini
