Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has rubbished Umno leader Khairuddin Abu Hassan's plan to lodge a report against the party with the Registrar of Societies.
He said both Khairuddin and his plan are "useless".
"That is what he claims (that Umno doesn't follow party rules). But is he really an Umno man? Khairuddin is useless (tak boleh pakai)," Tengku Adnan said snidely.
Khairuddin was previously sacked as Batu Kawan Umno vice chief for his criticism of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who is also Umno president.
Khairuddin today claimed that Umno's supreme council had not followed party rules when suspending Muhyiddin Yassin as Umno deputy president.
He also said this showed that the council did not respect the outcome of the last party polls, in which Umno decided that Muhyiddin would be its number two.
On a separate matter, Tengku Adnan also brushed off Pagoh Umno's call for disciplinary action to be taken against Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz.
Pagoh Umno yesterday slammed Muhyiddin's suspension and demanded that action be taken against Nazri too, for likening Muhyiddin to a dog biting at the party's leg, for his criticism against Najib.
"We suspended Muhyiddin, why the need to take action against Nazri?
"Is it true (that Nazri said that)? It would be best that you check your facts," he said after officiating a function in Kuala Lumpur today.
Earlier in his speech, Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories minister, urged voters in the federal territories to vote for BN.
He said the government can help the people better if the parliamentary seats are controlled by BN.
The opposition controls 10 of 12 parliamentary seats in Kuala Lumpur. -Mkini
