Former Wanita Umno chief Rafidah Aziz shrugged off the verbal attack from Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz who called her a "nobody" when she offered her advice to the party to keep party president Najib Abdul Razak in check amid his perceived indiscretions.
"This is how some people communicate, in their best language, bahasa terbaik mereka," she sniped in a comment on her Facebook account.
"This is what I get for giving my honest and heartfelt advice, and for my love of the party and the country. I leave it to God almighty who knows all and everything," said the former minister.
"I am not lessened by it. No skin off my nose, let alone my back," she said in the comment at a screen capture she posted of the Malaysiakini article yesterday quoting Nazri labelling her a "nobody" without any clout in the party, who can "bark" all she wants.
“Rafidah is a nobody. We practise freedom of speech. She can bark all she wants,” Nazri had said yesterday when commenting on Rafidah's earlier reminder of the tale of the emperor without clothes, asking the Umno supreme council to start reining in Najib for the good of the nation.
Of late, Rafidah has joined the chorus of Umno veterans who have been calling for Najib to correct his many perceived foul-ups in managing the party and the nation, especially his handling of the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion 'donation' scandals.
In the meantime, all of Najib's cabinet ministers and his supporters have been shooting down their critics in counter-attacks. -Mkini
