Umno rebel faction Gabungan Ketua Cawangan Umno Malaysia (GKCM) has once again thrown down the gauntlet to party secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, challenging him to debate with them on recent turbulence in the party.
The challenge was delivered by GKCM president Kamarulazman Habibur Rahman, who said that until today, no disciplinary action has been taken against him or the group.
The group was supposedly slated to face disciplinary action for its open defiance against Umno president Najib Abdul Razak and repeated questioning of government scandals involving 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion donation that was deposited in the prime minister's personal accounts, though nothing has yet to come out of it.
Previously, several Umno members and grassroots leaders have been expelled while several ministers and menteris besar have been purged from the party for doing the same.
"If I am about to be expelled from Umno, no letter has arrived. I am still waiting and my good friend Tengku Adnan has yet to deliver (the letter).
"Indeed, I have challenged him several times to debate me in public about issues concerning Umno," he said in Port Dickson today.
Kamarulzaman had challenged Tengku Adnan before though the Umno secretary-general has dismissed the group as "shit-stirrers".
"Tengku Adnan, if you are reading this, know that I challenge you to debate with me personally," he said.
