Zahid and Hisham too should apologise for Aminulrasyid shooting

Inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar isn't the only one who should apologise over the fatal police shooting of teenager Aminulrasyid Amzah, but the present and previous home ministers as well, said a DAP lawmaker.
DAP Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang was commenting on the IGP's continuing refusal to apologise to Aminulrasyid's family following last week's damning court ruling.
"It is a sad that Khalid continues to defend the unjustified police shooting and killing of the 14-year-old Aminulrasyid in Shah Alam six years ago.
"It is a poor reflection on police professionalism of top police officers like Khalid and a slur on their duties [...]," said Lim in a statement today.
"In fact, it is not only IGP Khalid, but Home Minister Zaid Hamidi and former home minister Hishammuddin Hussein who should tender apology," he added.
Last week the court ruled in favour of Aminulrasyid's family in their civil suit against the police over the teen's death and noted public misfeasance on the IGP's part in relation to claims made over weapons found in the car.
However Khalid yesterday remained adamant about calls to apologise to the family.
