After being questioned by the police today, Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua said he hopes the police would be just as swift in investigating the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's (ABC) revelations on the large deposits into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank account.
The report states that some of the deposits into Najib's bank account came from the Ministry of Finance-owned SRC International, Pua noted, which in turn had been spent on hotel stays, luxury cars, and others.
“I have already given full cooperation to the police, and I hope the police would also conduct a swift investigation on other cases, including the ABC's report published yesterday.
“We hope the police can act independently and investigate the matter thoroughly.
“Make an appointment with the prime minister quickly and get his answers,” he told reporters outside the Bukit Aman police headquarters today.
Pua had been summoned to Bukit Aman for an investigation under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The laws deal with intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace, and abuse of network facilities, respectively.
This is over a Twitter posting that Pua has admitted to making on March 26, which reads, "This thug said 14-year old Aminulrasyid was shot by police because there was dangerous weapons in his car".
The tweet is accompanied by a link to a news report on inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar's refusal to apologise to Aminulrasyid Amzah's family, despite being found guilty of malfeasance by the Shah Alam High Court over the 2010 incident.
