Prime Minister Najib Razak says RM400 million has been channelled to the state government to improve the people's standard of living
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Najib Razak today told the Dewan Rakyat that although Kelantan is ruled by PAS, the state is among the highest recipients of federal aid amounting to RM400 million last year.
Najib clarified that the amount was channelled to the state government to improve the people’s standard of living.
“All of the aid went to the state government. The aid to the federal agency is separate from this.
“We can say that Kelantan is one of the highest recipients of federal aid despite not being under Barisan Nasional,” he said.
The Pekan MP said this in response to Nasrudin Hassan (PAS – Temerloh) who asked the government whether the federal aid channelled to Kelantan was directly given to the state government.
Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Aziz (PAS – Pasir Mas) also asked Najib whether Putrajaya had any intention of replicating Kelantan’s green kitchen initiative that was introduced by the state government.
“It is up to the state government to use the allocations for its own programmes to help the rakyat,” he told Nik Abduh.
